WONERSH ARMISTICE CENTENARYSATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER 201810am – 4pmOur commemorations will be held in the following Wonersh locations:Wonersh Memorial Hall (main exhibition)St John the Baptist Parish ChurchUnited Reformed ChurchWonersh Village ClubWonersh Scout HutWonersh Bowling ClubSt John’s SeminaryThe exhibitions will include:•Biographies of local men who fell in WW1 and WW2•Talks/Films•Children’s trails•Clothes of the time•Scouting and Guiding through the years•Display of material from Wonersh History Society, Blackheath Village Society and Shamley Green History Society and other archives•Loaned artefacts and memorabilia•Thought provoking material by Wonersh & Shamley Green schoolchildrenWonersh Playerswill perform ‘The Village - A WW1 Play’ an immersive theatre production set in Wonersh at the time of the Great War. Performances will be on the 3rd November (matinee and evening) and the 10th of November (evening only). Look out for details over the next few weeks.Complimentary refreshments will be available at the Grantley Armsfrom 10am to 11am and at the Wonersh Village Clubfrom 11am to 12 midday. Soup and bread will be provided in The Memorial Hallfrom 12 midday to 2pm, and tea and cakes at The Bowling Club from 2pm to 4pm.
